Conclusion

It is true that Islam is a misunderstood religion, but not because it is difficult to understand or is shrouded in mystery. On the contrary, the hallmark of this faith is, in  fact, clarity. For Muslims, the path of Islam has an overriding objective: to take one closer to God in order to ennoble one’s character, personal spirituality, and morality, and, ultimately, prepare for our return to God in the Hereafter. It brings light and joy to one’s life, and clarity in the hours and days of our lives. The Prophet Muhammad left a legacy of spiritual practices and worship that demonstrate how to achieve spiritual happiness and find peace of mind and calmness of heart, no matter how confusing and turbulent the currents of society and culture can be. This legacy is a curriculum in spiritual growth and preparation that is in harmony with the teachings of all the Prophets and Messengers before him, who all taught the same essential message (God’s peace and blessings be upon them all).
