Senator Richard J. Durbin Visits the Mosque Foundation

On Wednesday Feb 23, 2011 Senator Richard J. Durbin (D) visited the Mosque Foundation for the first time. The Senator was greeted by a host from the Mosque leadership and its two Imams. After a short tour of the Mosque facility, the Senator met with the Mosque leadership for an hour. After a brief presentation about the Mosque services and activities, the leadership discussed with the Senator issues of interest and importance to the Muslim community.  At the conclusion of the meeting, the Senator expressed his support to the Muslim American community and was quite impressed with the Mosque facility, services, and activities. Senator Durbin said he wished he had visited the Mosque and this community a long time ago.  He indicated to the Mosque leadership that he would continue this relationship and would visit the Mosque again in the future.
