
MFCC Open House
MFCC held its first Open House Sunday November 7th from 3-5 PM. Dozens of community members came to MFCC to learn about its facility, its staff and its programs.
MFCC Director Abdel Baset Hamayel introduced his staff and gave them an opportunity to speak a little about themselves, their backgrounds, their experience, their programs, and their roles in the MFCC.
MFCC also introduced program leaders, Sh. Zakariyya Khudeira, who teaches the Islam 101 class, Mr. Murad Murrar , the Martial Arts class instructor, and Mrs. Hamayel, the Saturday School Principal.
Keynote Speaker, Amal Ali, Youth Director of CIOGC, addressed the issue of Islamic identity for Muslim youth and how to maintain it.
Refreshments were served, and many prizes were raffled. A special thanks goes out to all our Open House sponsors: U.S. Cellular, Harlem Foods, Nile Restaurant, Al Bawadi Restaurant, Al Omari, Whispers Cafe, and Perfume World.
Career Workshop
The Arab American Association of Engineers and Architects along with the coordination of the Mosque Foundation Community Center held a Career Workshop on Friday Nov. 5th at MFCC to assist unemployed community members in finding a job in this tough market.
