The Importance of Prayer
The importance of the prayer in Islam cannot be understated. It is the first pillar of Islam that the Prophet (peace be upon him) mentioned after the testimony of faith, by which one becomes a Muslim. It was made obligatory upon all the prophets and for all people. Allah has declared its obligatory status under majestic circumstances. Maintaining your composure, energy and productivity during a long work or school day, or while struggling to stay alert to take care of your young children and still have enough stamina to stay awake at night for prayer truly tests an individual's spiritual and physical vigor.
