by Sh. Kifah Mustapha
The Mosque Foundation hosted a group of ten delegates who visited the U.S. as guests of the International Visitors Center of Chicago sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Congress. This program invites delegates to learn about the academic perspective on Islam in America. The group observes Muslim life as a component of religious diversity in the U.S. and how ethnic and religious groups celebrate identity and promote cooperation with other traditions.
Some of these delegates were: Sultan Ahmad Ali (secretary general for Islahi Jamaat,) Muhammad Haider Alvi (khatib of Jamea Masjid Tehkhany Wali,) Mirza Masood Baig (deputy administrator at Binoria International University,) Mehar Moinuddin Chishti (member of Pakistan People’s Party,) Saeed Khan (Islamic Law at Jamia Ul Uloom il Islamiyyah), among several others. |
