Mosque Foundation Community Center Summer Camp
By Connie Martin
The Mosque Foundation Community Center Summer Camp had an enrollment of almost 100 boys & girls, ages 5 – 12 years old, who were given the opportunity to spend their summer vacation in a safe and healthy environment. The camp provided daily Islamic education in Qur’an, Ahadeeth, and Du’a memorization, as well as fun activities such as debka, nasheed, arts & crafts, games, an obstacle course, family BBQ, and weekly swimming in a private enclosed pool. The children also gained new experiences through the summer camp’s exciting field trips such as horseback riding, a boat ride on Lake Michigan, the Shanghai Circus, picking fruit at a fruit orchard, and a water park excursion. An end of summer camp celebration party for the students, teachers, and parents was held in Aqsa School as the six weeks of MFCC Summer Camp fun came to a close.
