Coping With Death
by Aziza Nassar
The time of death is fixed for everyone. Every single person's age is fixed. It cannot increase from its fixed time nor can it decrease. Nothing can save one from death. Wherever you are, death will find you out, even if you are in towers built up high or in this case, on a hospital bed in your weakest of states. When the time of death comes, nothing can delay it.
July 6th, 2009 was this fixed time for not just a dear friend, but an inspirational sister. Eshraga bintu Amal bintu Taj (may Allah SWT have mercy on her) was the epitome of a young Muslimah who was raised amongst the walls of the Mosque Foundation. She was tolerant and forgiving, she greeted all with a warm smile, she was shy, she was sincere but kind, and for all these characteristics she will be missed.
While we as a community will miss her very much, she is now in the hands of the One, the Great, the Merciful Creator, Allah SWT. May she be youth amongst the seven whom Allah will shade in His shade on the Day when there is no shade except His Shade.
Many times we tend to forget that death has no age. We were promised that all men and women will taste death on earth. Young or old, rich or poor, strong or weak; all will return to our Creator. Those who preserve this life in devotion and faith to Him, Heavens will be amongst his or her dwelling. Thus, we must hold steadfast to our faith, because this world is but a short journey. No one knows when his or her fixed time will be.
May Allah have mercy on all the Muslims who have passed. May Allah fill their graves with light, may grant them shade on the day when there is no shade except His. May Allah grant them all the highest of Heavens, reward them for their good doings, and forgive them for their wrong.
May Allah forgive us, and forgive our parents, and our grandparents. May Allah grant us all the highest of Heavens. Ameen. |
