Former Priest Speaks at Mosque Foundation

 The Mosque Foundation "In the Shade of Faith" program welcomed special guest Idris Tawfiq on Thursday, June 11th. Br. Idris, a British author and former priest, chronicled the journey of his amazing life as a parish priest to his eventual conversion to Islam. Tawfiq makes it clear that he has no regrets over his five years in the Vatican, and that life's experiences ultimately are meant to mold us into who we are. Tawfiq's first exposure to Islam was on holiday in Egypt, and through continued interaction with Muslims, and particularly in studying and teaching Islam for a religious studies class he taught, he eventually found himself in the biggest mosque in London taking his shahada with Yusuf Islam.
